Bismarck – The Minot High Boys Basketball Team faced a more difficult path to the 2024-2025 NDHSAA Division AA Boys Basketball Tournament held in Fargo this week. The magician will need to win the state qualifying round at Bismarck on Saturday, March 8th and advance to the state tournament.
Mandan faced the Minot High team, and the winners carried out the losers that year.
The Braves move on while the Magician finishes with a 77-65 victory at Minot High.
Mandan jumped out for a solid 46-31 lead in the half, and the magician closed the gap and chased the Braves to fill his hands. Despite surpassing Mandan 34-31 in the second half, it wasn’t enough to close the winning gap.
Mandan was led by Hudson Sheldon with 30 points and five rebounds. TJ Brownotter also added 17 points and five rebounds in his victory.
Aric Winczewski scored 15 points at Minot High, while Fisher Johnson and Grayson Schaeffer each added 14 points. Schaeffer also added eight rebounds. Payton Shell scored 12 points and six rebounds in the contest.
