New Delhi:
The arrest of Jasveen Sangha, dubbed the “Ketamine Queen of Los Angeles,” in connection with the death of actor Matthew Perry has revealed a lavish lifestyle funded by a deadly drug empire. Sangha, 41, a dual British and American citizen, is at the center of a federal investigation into her alleged role in supplying the ketamine that led to Perry’s death on October 28 last year. She is one of five suspects in connection to Perry’s death.
Prosecutors described Sangha as a “celebrity drug dealer” who prided herself on supplying “high-quality product” to high-profile clients. Her Hollywood mansion, which federal authorities labeled a “drug district,” allegedly served as a major hub for dealing methamphetamine, cocaine, Xanax and her specialty, ketamine.
A search of her home in March uncovered a whopping 79 bottles of liquid ketamine, approximately 2,000 methamphetamine pills, and other illegal drugs.
Sangha’s activities, which reportedly date back to at least June 2019, earned her enough profits to live a lavish lifestyle most people could never imagine, with prosecutors saying she frequently jetted off to exotic locations including Mexico, Spain, Italy, Greece, Japan, France, Dubai and Antigua, and often displayed a “total indifference” to the fact that the ketamine she distributed was deadly.
Her lavish lifestyle was evident not only in her travels but also in her possessions: Sangha drove a Range Rover before switching to a leased 2024 BMW, and she rented out what prosecutors called a “stash house” in North Hollywood for thousands of dollars a month.
Photos she posts to social media show her partying with A-list actors who are famously addicted, like Charlie Sheen. Her personal Instagram account is filled with photos of her devouring caviar on private jets in exotic locations around the world. She also frequently posts pictures of herself wearing designer clothes, including Louis Vuitton shoes and Chanel outfits.
Despite the allegations, Sangha reportedly maintained a carefree demeanor in the days leading up to her arrest. According to the New York Post, her friends said she appeared to be more outgoing and active than ever, frequently partying, going shopping and enjoying beauty treatments like Botox and infusions.
Sangha was known to have undergone regular cosmetic surgery and was reported to have taken pride in her appearance, which some say contributed to her appeal as a “celebrity drug dealer”.
Sangha was released on $100,000 bail after her arrest in March on charges of methamphetamine possession. However, she continued to live a lavish lifestyle until she was rearrested in connection with Perry’s death. The latest charges against her, detailed in an 18-count indictment, include conspiracy to distribute ketamine, forgery and various other drug trafficking offenses. Sangha has pleaded not guilty, but a judge ordered her held without bail while awaiting trial.
