Today, the podcasting industry has grown to over $25 billion. According to Forbes, influencer marketing is a $250 billion industry as of last month, and both are likely to grow even larger in the coming years.
Like Democrats, Republicans now see value in working with these creators and plan to bring them under the red tent in many upcoming elections.
“We really need to build a bench of people who can continue to advance conservative ideals online,” CJ Pearson, co-chair of the Republican National Convention’s Youth Advisory Committee, told me. told. “This allows us to continue to reach young people in places that traditional media can’t reach. And it allows us to continue to reach young people in places that traditional media can’t reach. I think it will become something that we can rely on.”
There will be a lot of thinking in the coming days and weeks about what went wrong with the Harris campaign. But one thing we’re sure of? The future of elections and political influencers as we know them has changed forever. They will now be organized and operated under the new Trump administration.
