The Dallas Morning News has partnered with The Texas Lawbook to provide readers with in-depth coverage of Texas business law.
The Lawbook is a Dallas-based online publication covering Texas business law and lawyers. Founded in 2011 by Mark Carriden, an attorney and former legal reporter for The News, it has grown to become one of the largest legal publications in Texas.
“This partnership with the Dallas Morning News will allow us to bring our substantive, in-depth commercial law coverage to a larger audience across the state,” Kliden said in a statement. “I look forward to working collaboratively with TDMN’s award-winning journalists.”
Lawbook announced Jeff Schnick as its new editor in July. Schnick is a former editor-in-chief of the Dallas Business Journal and a former deputy business editor of The News.
“This partnership will allow us to bring in-depth corporate law, transactional and trial content to a broader business-savvy audience,” said Schnick. “The Morning News has a storied history of influential business news coverage, with countless reporters and editors ranging from Sheryl Hall and Bob Miller to Steve Brown and Terry Maxson. has recorded its rise to become a global economic powerhouse.
Starting this month, The News will publish select articles from the Business section online and in print.
Lawbook has a team of nine reporters and editors and serves more than 16,000 subscribers. We had a content-sharing agreement with The News when it launched in 2011 that lasted until 2016. Lawbook previously had editorial affiliations with the Houston Chronicle and Dallas Business Journal.
Lawbook covers civil litigation and trials, and corporate mergers and acquisitions. We also cover corporate compliance issues such as labor, employment, cybersecurity, and intellectual property.
