ARLINGTON, Texas — Texans coach DeMeco Ryans praised running back Joe Mixon’s three-touchdown performance in Houston’s 34-10 win over the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.” In response, they called it “war power.”
Mixon did the heavy lifting for the Texans offense, scoring all of his offensive touchdowns and rushing for 109 yards. His three rushing touchdowns were the second-most in a single game in his career.
Mixon tied the Texans’ single-game rushing touchdown record, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to accomplish the feat. But Lyons and Mixon credited the offensive line for paving the running lanes for the former Pro Bowl returnee.
“Joe, when he’s on, he’s a force for us,” Lyons said. “The run game starts with our offensive line. I challenged them to play fast and play aggressive. I thought they did a really great job. The way they just kept stirring it up in the run game. I really like them and I’m proud of how they’ve continued to fight and continue to step up to the challenge. ”
