A Texas city has been named one of the top 10 most livable cities in the United States over the next two years.
U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Places to Live list includes 10 Texas cities. In its annual ranking, U.S. News analyzed 150 major U.S. cities based on quality of life, job market, value of living and people’s desire to live in the area.

Austin offers a healthy balance of work and fun, U.S. News reported
Austin’s overall score was 6.8 out of 10, while Naples’ score was 7.1. The Texas capital also had a quality of life index of 6.8 and a value index score of 6.3.
A U.S. News analysis says, “Under the slogan ‘Keep Austin Weird,’ this Texas city is so laid-back that if you’re going to dress up, it’s a big event in your life.” being analyzed. “People here enjoy the outdoors, especially when they have their dogs with them. Austin has a contagious vibrancy and enthusiasm.”
US News points out that Austin’s greatest asset is his combination of work and fun. The number of companies headquartered in Austin is attractive to working professionals, especially those in technology, government, education, and healthcare. However, the capital is far from an “all work and no play” situation. Its claim as the Live Music Capital of the World invites music lovers to the airport, along the streets of downtown, or at one of the nearly 200 venues located throughout the region.
Austin also ranked second. Ranked 32nd on U.S. News’ list of the best places to retire in 2025.
