Pavel Durov, billionaire CEO of messaging app Telegram, was arrested in Paris on Saturday night, Reuters reported, according to TF1 and BFM television.
According to TF1, Durov received an arrest warrant in connection with a preliminary police investigation.

TF1 reports that the investigation concerns his company’s messaging app, which French police believe lacks moderators to curb criminal activity.

The CEO was aboard a private jet at Paris-Le Bourget airport, which once served as the French capital’s main airport.
Originally from Russia, Pavel currently lives in Dubai and holds dual UAE and French citizenship.

Telegram is based in Dubai and has more than 900 million monthly active users, according to company data.
Telegram did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ request for comment.
