The Syrians and Bosnians were among the 10 victims of the gunmen who committed the worst shooting in Swedish history at an Orebro school on Tuesday.
It was the first information about the people who were killed, and came from two embassies rather than the police who said there were only victims of many nationalities.
Police said the suspect’s gunman, named 35-year-old Rickard Anderson, locally, was later found dead with three guns.
The local police chief said that when police entered the school building, they faced “Inferno”: “Dead people, screams, smoke.”
Lars Wiren spoke about the Chaos scene at Risbergska School.
Anna Bergvist, the head of the police investigation, said BBC police can only confirm that people of multiple nationalities and ages have been caught up in the shooting.
The Bosnian Embassy said one Bosnian citizen was killed and the other was injured. Ambassador Bojang Sochik layed flowers outside of Orebro school on Thursday.
The Syrian Embassy did not give details on the number of Syrians affected, but “pleasantly apologizing and sympathy for the families of the victims, including dear Syrian citizens, and friendly Swedish people. I’ll provide it.”
However, it soon became clear that Salim Iskef, a 29-year-old orthodox Christian who fled the war in Syria in 2015, was one of the ten casualties.
Santa Maria Church in Orebro said his life was tragically over with a shooting.

Jacob Caselia, a priest of the Syrian Orthodox Church in Orebro, told the BBC that ISKEF was a kind and thoughtful young man who arrived from Aleppo in 2015 and is due to marry this summer.
According to a Swedish report, he has become a Swedish citizen.
The priest said Mr Iskev’s fiancé was “very badly affected” by the murder.
“She’s been going through a very difficult and very dark experience,” Caselia said.
Iskef’s aunt told Arabic website Alkompis that she video-called her mother saying that he had been shot and asked her to take care of her fiancée.
The Bosnian Embassy said there was relevant information from the Bosnian community in Orebro, but it chose to wait for official information from the police.
In Orebro, there was some frustration at a slow pace, with police releasing information about their investigation.
“I think it would be strange for police to choose to withhold information from their respective embassies that relate to foreign citizens,” Ambassador Sothic told the BBC. He described the Bosnian community as being among the most integrated in Sweden.

Orebro police said an alarm was raised at 12:33 (11:33 GMT) on Tuesday, with the first patrol arriving at the school about five minutes later, a massive education campus about 200 km (124 km) west of Stockholm. They say it’s in.
Police Chief Lars Wylen said 130 police officers eventually arrived at the school and found “Inferno.”
He told the BBC there was no evidence that the bomb had exploded, but he told them there was thick smoke that could have come from a suspect who had fired or smoky hand-rena bullets.
He said he believed the suspect fired at police, but the officers did not fight back. The gunman was found dead at the scene an hour later.
Police investigator Anna Bergqvist said the suspect committed suicide.
She confirmed that at the scene next to the gunman, a total of four guns were found, known to be legally registered with the suspect.
However, she declined to comment on the type of guns and ammunition she used.

Police remained rambling over both the suspect and the potential motives behind the attack.
Anna Bergqvist explained that the delay in naming the suspect was due to waiting for DNA samples to match.
Swedish police are usually cautious about naming suspects and usually do not do so before being charged, but Ms Bergqvist will create an exception in this case and name them in the next few days. I expect it to be published.
Risbergska School provides adult education to people over the age of 20, those who have not graduated from primary or secondary schools, to Swedish classes for immigrants.
Young Orebro residents have already expressed fear of the racial elements of the shooting, and a Syrian statement confirmed that migrants are among the victims.
Swedish TV4 channels broadcast video recordings from school toilets during a gun attack, with the words “Get off from Europe!” You can hear it.
It is not clear who cried out the words and that police were careful not to argue with the motives.
However, on Tuesday, Ms Bergqvist appeared to return the first statement from authorities that the motive for the attack was not ideological.
“I can’t comment on why they said that,” she said. “We see different motivations. We declare that when we have them.”
Rickard Anderson has been described as a local recluse, and one report on Swedish website Aftonbladet suggests that his attacks may have targeted local social services.
Sources told the site they discussed it with social workers after losing welfare benefits because they didn’t do enough to find work.
Police on Tuesday said the suspect had no previous beliefs or obvious links to the gang, and did not believe the attack was motivated by the terrorist attacks.
