Mountain Pacific Sports Federation website Rio Grande Valley – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Inter-Athletics Bureau announced Thursday that it had accepted an invitation from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) board of directors. Swimming and diving begins in the 2025-26 grade.
“The transition to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation marks an important day for the swimming and diving program,” said Chasse Conque, vice president and director of UTRGV. “The deep history of Olympic sports and participation in conferences will provide a top-notch competitive environment for student-athletes.”
UTRGV Swimming & Diving joined MPSF after spending their first NCAA DI season at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Along with UTRGV, former WAC Swimming & Diving Programs California Baptist, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado and Utah Institute of Technology are participating in the MPSF.
The 10-team meeting also includes Incarnation Ward, Pacific, Pepperdine and San Diego. By the end of this season, Vaqueros will compete with six of MPSF’s nine other programs.
“We look forward to being in a meeting that houses familiar faces since our first DI season,” said Betsy Graham, head coach of UTRGV swimming and diving. “As I embark on this journey, I look forward to building relationships with new coaches and programs.”
Vaqueros has state-of-the-art homes in Farschanaturium, the 2023 and 2024 WAC Championship home, and is now a nearly complete, competitive city for a year, as it continues to build its programme It marks the arrival of this new era in the world. .
About MPSF
In its 33rd year of competition, MPSF currently sponsors the competition in 15 intercollegiate Olympic sports, serving more than 90 teams nationwide. The MPSF was founded in 1992-93 and offered championship competition and opportunities in sports without conference affiliation.
MPSF won two five national championships between 2023-24 athletic years. In the spring of 2021, the MPSF became the first non-power conference to win 100 national championships. Additionally, the MPSF brought home a total of 59 medals, with 138 current or former student-athletes competing at the 2024 Parisiolmâch.
