The suspect has not been officially named by police, but the Swedish report confirmed his identity as 35-year-old Rickard Anderson.
PJ Samuelsson, who has lived next to the suspect since May 2024, said he has never seen or heard of the neighbor.
“We couldn’t come here. They said you had to wait a few hours,” Samuelson said on the block of an apartment surrounded by heavily armed police when he returned Tuesday. He added that he found it.
He said he “knowed absolutely nothing” about his neighbor and only saw his name on the door. Samuelson told the broadcaster it was “bad” to find out that his neighbor was a suspect.
He said it was a “bad” idea that Anderson thought he had a weapon next to him.
