Stephen Curry had the best performance of his career on Thursday night, leading the Golden State Warriors to a 139-105 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
The two-time NBA MVP was a sharp-shooter with 30 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds, becoming the first player in league history to hit at least 8-of-8 3-pointers and record double-digit assists. Ta. Same game.
According to Statmuse, his eight no-miss triples are a career best and just one shy of the NBA record set twice by Latrell Sprewell, Jalen Brunson and Ben Gordon.
“He deserves this night,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after the game. “I mean, everything he does for us, everything he endures, it’s just so much fun to watch him do it. Our fans and our coaches watch him play every night. I’m satisfied.
“We have to cherish this night. He won’t be around forever. He’s one of the most beautiful basketball players that ever lived, and we watch him I’m lucky to be able to do that.”
To make matters worse, the 36-year-old entered the game with a sprained thumb, and teammate Draymond Green revealed during Wednesday’s practice that Curry was unable to use his right hand.
“Sometimes you have little injuries or random things that happen and you have to focus a little bit more,” Curry said. “We didn’t take many shots in the first half, but all four of them were really good shots that got us in rhythm. From then on, it felt like we were flowing with joy that things were going our way. .”
Jonathan Kuminga came off the bench to score 20 points, and Green, Dennis Schroder and Andrew Wiggins each added 15 points. A total of seven Warriors scored in double figures on the night. Joel Embiid led the 76ers with 28 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks.
It was an important win for the Warriors, who started the season 12-3 but lost 13 of their next 17 games. They currently sit in 10th place in the Western Conference with 17 wins and 16 losses on the year.
The Sixers have had another disappointing season, currently sitting in 11th place in the East with a 13-19 record.
