Warriors star Steph Curry is all about teammate Draymond Green’s declaration that Golden State will win the NBA Finals this season.
Motivated curry at the postgame show follows a MVP-worthy performance that brought Shaq’s OGS victory after Green took the vow to TNT’s “NBA All-Star Tip Off” before Sunday’s big game. I’ve responded.
“We love the pressure,” Curry told Ernie Johnson when he asked what he thought of Green’s promise. “We love expectations. You know that. He’s smart. He knows what he’s saying.”
“That’s what we’re doing here,” Green added.

Curry and Green know one or two things about exceeding expectations when everyone thinks that everyone ended in 2022 during an inconsistent season. Does it sound familiar?
With plenty of time left to play, Golden State sits in 10th place in the Western Conference and has some momentum after acquiring Jimmy Butler at the February 6 trade deadline. This is the move that sparked Green’s bold predictions.
“We’re going to win the championship.”

Curry is still as confident as ever, he told reporters after the All-Star Game.
“I’m excited,” Curry said. “I got Draymond with a telecast that guarantees we’ve won the championship. I love expectations and have something to do. He certainly has fire. It’s lit.
“But all the jokes aside, I think we finished the last four games 3-1, but there’s still a lot to grasp, I think we’re still there to push around 27 games. With the series, everyone in the West can fight tough people. We have a good opportunity to do it right in front of our eyes.
“I’m looking forward to this challenge. It’s basically a playoff game every night and it usually brings the best out of you.”
Curry is right – The Warriors need to advance a playoff-like mindset and play every game. And Dub Nation certainly hopes they will be good in Green’s words.
