Tourism officials from St. Lucia are currently participating in the 36th annual Virtuoso Travel Week, taking place in Las Vegas from August 10-16, 2024. The event attracts approximately 5,000 top professionals from 97 countries and is known for making a major impact in the luxury travel industry.
Held at the renowned Bellagio Resort & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino and Vdara Hotel & Spa, the event is a key platform for expanding knowledge, increasing sales and building relationships in the luxury travel industry.
This year’s Travel Week will see the participation of approximately 2,300 companies and more than 180,000 business meetings and appointments, making it the largest event of its kind ever.
The addition of St. Lucia, which also includes North American Sales Manager Raquel John and Global Sales Director Richard Moss, signals the company’s strategic goal of diversifying its market presence while supporting long-term growth.
Richard Moss also took to Facebook to promote his participation in the St. Lucia event, saying, “What a great day doing business appointments during Virtuoso Travel Week. It’s always a pleasure speaking with Chairman and CEO Matthew Upchurch. Thank you for focusing on people-to-people connections.”
He also met with Travelo CEO Zeina Gedeon, who said the team is excited about the future and the travel industry.
The St. Lucia team will be participating in several other conferences during the event, increasing the island’s overall presence on the world map.
Notably, Virtuoso has tailored this year’s event to foster personal success by providing a more customized experience.
The week kicked off with a Globetrottinning session, where over 900 Virtuoso members participated in interactive presentations and discussions on specific travel verticals, including adventure, cruises and culinary experiences.
The event also featured the second annual Tech Summit, showcasing both established technology companies and innovative start-ups focused on improving travel planning.
On Sunday, visitors were treated to a diverse range of professional development courses aimed at broadening participants’ knowledge in areas such as customer engagement, business growth and accessible travel.
Another highlight of Virtuoso Travel Week 2024 was the Hotel Showcase, which focused on St. Lucia’s Jade Mountain through immersive presentations and networking opportunities.
This latest addition is in line with the event’s efforts to provide a more interactive and engaging experience for attendees while increasing overall exposure for participating hotels and destinations.
During Sunday’s opening ceremony, the event’s CEO, Matthew D. Upchurch, addressed the audience and emphasized the event’s focus on innovation and partnerships.
