Teenager returns to darts final
LONDON — Teenage star Luke Littler has reached the final of the World Darts Championship again.
Littler, just 17, defeated Stephen Bunting 6-1 on Thursday to earn another shot at the title. It’s been a year since his unexpected exploits brought a new wave of fans to the sport.
Littler lost in his first appearance in a title match a year ago, but fans watched as the carefree young man defeated opponents more than twice his age.
Littler will face three-time champion Michael van Gerwen in today’s final at London’s Alexandra Palace. The Dutchman advanced by defeating Chris Dobey 6-1.
Since losing 7-4 in last year’s final, Littler has won 10 tournaments around the world, including Bahrain and Amsterdam.
