Girls Basketball: Linden Christian Meridian Monday, Jan. 6, 7:15 p.m., Linden Christian High
Meridian is off to an incredible start to the season with a 6-1 record and sits in fifth place in the Northwest Conference standings. The Trojans have one of the narrowest point differentials in the conference, averaging about nine points more than their opponents this season. Linden Christian is also in third place in the conference with a 6-1 record. The Lynx are scoring nearly 61 points per game.
WWU Women’s Basketball vs. Central Washington Saturday, Jan. 11, 7 p.m., Carver Gymnasium
In the early Great Northwest Athletic Conference matchup, Western Washington takes on rival Central Washington. The Vikings are 0-1 in conference play and the Wildcats are 1-0. Western has been plagued by injuries this season, but their young lineup has kept them close.
Open Track Night at Civic Stadium Wednesday, January 8th 5:30pm at Civic Stadium
For those looking to work up a sweat or take a walk in the fresh air, the Civic Stadium track will be open every Wednesday until February 26th. No registration required. The track will be open from 5pm, weather permitting. The lights will be on from 7:30pm to 7:30pm. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
