Last night, South Prairie Max girls basketball hosted the Kenmare Bowbells in their season opener. The Royals are ranked No. 1 in Class A and the Honkers are ranked No. 3 in Class B in preseason polls.
The match started out close, with both teams taking turns taking the lead. The Royals held the lead until half-time, but showed some great defending against Kenmare Bowbells in the second half. South Prairie kept the momentum going, increasing its lead in the third quarter and defeating the Honkers 53-47 in the final.
South Prairie Max will play Parshall on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Parshall High School. The Kenmare-Bowbells will play Mayport-CG on Friday, December 6th at Minot Auditorium.
De Lac Burlington 56, Beulah 28
The Lakers welcomed Beulah to open the 2024-2025 women’s basketball season, and she found an offensive rhythm early and maintained it throughout the game.
DL-B outscored Beulah 17-2 in the first quarter, won 11-10 in the second, and led 28-12 at halftime. The home team took a 16-7 lead in the third quarter, and the Lakers won with a scoring advantage of 12-9 in the fourth.
Deluxe Burlington was led by Rogen Isters with 15 points and Kaylee Werner added 12 points in the win. Eva Braun scored nine points, and four other Lakers players scored between four and six points.
Beulah was led by Malaya Williams with 12 points and Addie Dale-Ledger added eight points.

In the first game between the two teams, the Cardinals hosted the Lions and won at home by 13 points over the visiting team.
Nedrose will host Mohall Lunsford Sherwood on Friday, Dec. 6, and Bishop Ryan will play in the Shootout on the Prairie at Minot Auditorium on Friday and Saturday.
