Miles Garrett has not accepted a contract extension with the Cleveland Browns confirmed by league sources. This is because the team has declared it will not comply with Star Pass Rush trade requests.
Cleveland.com reported that Garrett and his representatives first “denounced the door” in negotiations. The Browns met with Garrett representatives this week at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Browns general manager Andrew Berry reiterated Tuesday that he would not trade Garrett, who publicly announced his desire to leave Cleveland in early February.

And on Wednesday, coach Kevin Stefanski said Garrett was “part of the present. He’s part of the future.”
Garrett, 29, six Pro Bowlers and four Pro Low Selections remain two years behind the five-year, record five-year, $125 million extension signed in 2020, but no guaranteed pay.
In eight seasons, Garrett, the 2023 defensive player of the year, made the playoffs twice. The 2024 Browns’ 3-14 finish was the worst since Garrett’s rookie year was 0-16 in 2017. Cleveland holds his second pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
A few days after making the trade request, Garrett said it wasn’t tied to a desire for a new contract and wanted to play for the candidate.
“When I talk to the management at the Browns, I don’t feel that our future is in line with the victory we’re in,” Garrett told ESPN’s “NFL Countdown” hours before Super Bowl LIX. “That’s what I look forward to at this stage of my career.”
