HANFORD, Calif. (KFSN) — Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or your wedding day, The Baking Barn can create a cake worthy of any special celebration.
“At first we only did cupcakes, but before we knew it we were doing custom cakes as well,” says owner Ashley Rosa.
From Jurassic Park to sports to sharks, works of art are as beautiful to look at as they are delicious.
“I try to take a more contemporary approach to the character cakes I make,” Rosa says.
Churros and funfetti are the two most popular flavors.
Rosa started her business in 2020, bringing a Southern twist to desserts.
She has lived in the South Valley area most of her life and makes community involvement a priority.
“When COVID hit, I took the opportunity to practice with people who just needed a cake but couldn’t afford it at the time or weren’t sure if they would have work for their child’s birthday,” she said.
Now that he has put down roots in Hanford, Rosa is watching his budding business thrive.
“It’s been fun to watch it grow,” she says. “I even have customers in Fresno. Last year I got to make a baby shower cake for Summer Pardi.”
She even flew a cake to North Carolina for an influencer’s wedding.
