A small business and housing finance event will be held from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, Jan. 31, in the Skoll Conference Room in the Valley City State University Memorial Student Center. Speakers include Ben Dietz of the U.S. Small Business Administration and Dillon Thomas of the U.S. Small Business Administration. U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Elizabeth Fares Oren, North Dakota Women’s Business Center, David Flohr, North Dakota Housing, and Michaela Schell, Dakota Business Loans.
Mr. Thomas, a USDA single-family housing specialist, said his role is to process USDA single-family housing 502/504 applications from loan origination to underwriting and loan/grant closing, and to improve affordable homeownership. The aim is to continue to connect with rural areas to provide opportunities for Financing options to help families and individuals remain in their homes.
Additionally, “The information included in our presentations will enable rural residents to seek advice on how to purchase or repair their homes. Across the state, we will explore how our programs benefit small towns. “There are many examples of this,” Thoms emphasized. From reducing your heating costs by replacing a leaky roof with a new furnace to modifying your home to make it more accessible to a household member with a disability, we’re just a phone call away. This gives you the opportunity to learn about financing options to make your homeownership dream a reality. ”
Thomas graduated from Valley City State University in 2018 with a degree in Business Administration in Human Resources. He completed his Master’s degree in Performance Improvement from Grantham University.
The event on January 31st at VCSU will feature a variety of financing resources relevant to small business owners and individuals who want to learn more about single-family and multifamily housing programs. Our presenters have extensive experience supporting small business, mortgage and home repair loan applications.
This event is open to the public. Coffee and light snacks will be provided.
