HAMMOND — Southeastern Louisiana University’s College of Business is proud to announce the biannual Excellence in Writing and Excellence Program, which recognizes 22 outstanding students who achieved excellence in essays written for coursework during the fall 2024 semester. An award ceremony was held.
The WOWED program was created in 2019 to recognize students who produce the “best of the best” individual and group projects, works, and papers each semester. Founded by former dean Antoinette Phillips, the program seeks to advance the College of Business’ learning goals of continually working to improve students’ written communication skills. The program is directed by David C. Wilde, Merritt Professor of Management, who also helped create it.
Tara Lopez, professor of marketing and chair of the School of Business, praised the students for their commitment to the project.
“This semester, a group of outstanding students have been nominated for the WOWED program. They represent the best of our student body and this program is a great way to celebrate their achievements,” she said. I did.
