A 2-pack of Starbucks Egg Bites costs $5 at my location. Making it ahead of time will save you money and allow you to use your favorite ingredients. I personally love the delicious taste of bacon gruyere cheese, so today I’m going to show you how to make a similar homemade version. It’s creamy, cheesy, and easy to make.
My mother-in-law makes these every week and she was kind enough to show me how to make them. I’m sure some people prefer cottage cheese, but she prefers cream cheese, and so far I love cream cheese.
The secret to making it is in an egg-bite shape!
This mold from Amazon.com fits perfectly inside your Instant Pot or air fryer and makes seven perfectly shaped eggs at once. Just set the STEAM function to 10 minutes and let the Instant Pot do the work.
This silicone mold will help you recreate the hugely popular Starbucks sous vide egg bites, but you can create even more delicious creations. Make muffins, brownies, meatloaf, hot cocoa bombs, cheesecake, and more.

We used the handy Instant Pot to mimic Starbucks egg bites featuring bacon and Gruyere cheese.
1
Prepare egg bite molds by spraying them with nonstick spray.
2
Add bacon and Gruyère cheese to the bottom of each mold.
3
Add eggs, milk, cream cheese, and salt to a mixer. Blend until smooth.
4
Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot. Pour the egg mixture into the egg bite mold. Place the egg roll mold on top of the trivet. Note: There is no need to cover the mold. Close the lid, set the mode to STEAM and leave for 10 minutes.
5
After the cooking time in the Instant Pot is finished, let the eggs rest for 5 minutes before removing. Please be careful as it is hot.

What about using the air fryer to chew eggs? I also tried this method! I used the same recipe using silicone molds and instead used the air fryer to cook at 340 degrees for 11 minutes. Insert a toothpick to check if it is completely cooked. The taste is very similar to the Instant Pot, although the texture on the outside of the bottom will be more crunchy and brown. If you don’t like cream cheese, change the cheese. You can also substitute cottage cheese or goat cheese. You can also use shredded cheddar cheese instead of Gruyère cheese. I think crushed sausage would be delicious too! Cooked eggs can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 5 days and in the freezer for up to 2 months. To warm it up, try heating it in the microwave for 90 seconds.
I love this Instant Pot Egg Bites recipe!
I like it because it’s easy to make a delicious breakfast and it tastes really good. In fact, my husband had never had a Starbucks egg bite before today. When he tastes each one side by side, he says the homemade version is fluffier and even tastier than the Starbucks version.
Making a big batch and saving it for later for breakfast is a great meal prep idea. Reheats really well.
