Luxury expedition travel company Silversea has announced plans to develop a new 150-room hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile, with the aim of enhancing the travel experience for visitors to Antarctica.
Expected to be completed by the end of next year, the hotel will complement Silversea’s attentive service and warm hospitality, offering a seamless journey to the White Continent.
Guests participating in Silversea’s Antarctic Bridge Fly Cruise program can fly non-stop from Santiago to Puerto Williams.
Government representatives and key stakeholders attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the hotel, which will be built in partnership with a consortium of Chilean investors.
Silversea claims to be the only cruise line to call Puerto Williams its home port during the Antarctic season.
The city is located in the sub-Antarctic region of Chile’s Patagonia region and serves as a gateway to the world’s least-visited continent.
Guests can explore pristine islands, snow-capped mountains and diverse wildlife while enjoying the amenities of Silversea’s expedition ships, including Silver Endeavor, Silver Wind and Silver Cloud.
“We are excited to enhance the Antarctic travel experience by removing traditional barriers and providing a seamless journey for guests to the region,” said Bart Hernandez, president of Silversea.
“This development not only differentiates us from other polar expeditions, but also reaffirms our commitment to innovation and excellence as Silversea continues to set the standard for experiential luxury travel. Masu.”
The hotel’s design reflects the surrounding natural beauty with views of the Beagle Channel and Patagonian mountains.
Facilities include a restaurant, bar, lounge, fitness center, and gift shop featuring works by local artisans.
Silversea’s commitment to the community is evident in its aim to foster Puerto Williams’ economic growth, protect its cultural heritage, and minimize its environmental impact.
Silversea, which has been leading luxury expedition travel to the polar regions for more than 15 years, said the new hotel further solidifies its position in the luxury expedition segment and offers a variety of Antarctic voyages that cater to the different tastes of travelers.
Silversea is one of the five brands of cruise line Royal Caribbean Group.
