Eight years ago, the world saw Billy McFarland, founder of the Fateful Feel Festival, failing to fulfill his luxurious promise to festival attendees.
After serving in prison for four years and facing scrutiny of two documentaries on fraud, McFarland is making a comeback.
According to the Washington Post, McFarland confirmed that FireFestival 2 is “real.”
What is Feel Festival?
According to McFarland, in 2017, Fyre Festival made history “where it is being talked about the world’s most music festivals.”
The ad features the faces of Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Haley Baldwin, and promised to be a gorgeous weekend. Participants paid up to $100,000 for tickets per BBC to enjoy high-end cooking, legendary musical performances and adventures.
When ticket holders arrived at the Bahamas’ great Exma island, they were shocked to be greeted with flooded mattresses in a rainy tent.
It didn’t take long for participants to storm social media. I posted a photo of the “best food” they were expecting.
Among the poor living accommodations, the band’s ticket holders were not featured, such as Migos or Blink-182.
Fyre Festival Fiasco went viral and was popular on all social media platforms.
After the catastrophe, McFarland was convicted of fraud and sentenced to six years in prison per BBC. He was released after four.
What does Fyre Festival 2 include?
On Monday, McFarland appeared on the “Today” show, and announced that FireFestival 2 would come in 2025.
Fyre Festival 2 is said to be held from May 30th to June 2nd, 2025 at Isla Mujeres, a Caribbean island in Mexico. Those who wish to attend can purchase tickets ranging from $1,400 to $1.1 million, excluding service charges.
So far, no lineup of music artists has been announced, according to the Washington Post.
McFarland said on NBC that he will be presenting artists over the next few months,” according to the Washington Post. “I’m not in charge of booking talent.”
The event is said to be more than just a music festival with the wellness, creative activities and extreme sports claims mentioned on the website.
“We might have professional skateboarders do a demonstration,” McFarland reported today on NBC. “I might ask the MMA champion to teach me the techniques in the morning.”
According to the Washington Post, McFarland left the event coordination and hired a production company.
