WASHINGTON – Shaedon Sharpe is one of the NBA’s most talented young dunk artists since being selected as seventh by the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2022 NBA Draft. But he reached a new level on Wednesday night – literally.
Sharp’s Justin Champany’s malicious one-handed slam was quickly welcomed as one of the best in the NBA this season. He called it the best of his career, and it was part of a one-size-fits career night in a 129-121 victory at the Washington Wizards in Portland.
“I just started laughing like, ‘Wow, man. A poor kid under him,'” Portland director Chauncy Billup said of the slums. “It was pretty incredible.”
The 21-year-old Sharp led Portland with a career-high 36 points, shooting 13 of 26 from the floor and sinking 7 of 10 free throws.

And his signing moment came from the defensive play of Alert as he swiped Champanee’s pass over the three-point arc. Sharp then brought one dribble into the paint, and even his teammate fired it incredibly high into the air.
“I don’t know where he got it,” the Blazers moved Deni Avdija forward. “I asked him on the bench, ‘If I work as hard as I can, can I jump like you?’ I don’t know, it’s just a gene. ”
This was the power of his slam, and Sharp temporarily crashed onto the court after washing the ball through the net.
“I saw the man get in the way,” Sharp explained.
In 33 minutes, Sharpe had eight rebounds. She’s shy for one career and five assists.
“His attack was incredible,” Billup said. “I was really like that. He was incredibly unbelievable on all three levels. I thought the defense was high. I really did it. And his rebound, he got a really, really big rebound for us.”
