In Jacksonville
SJ-O, Milford faces tough enemies. St. Joseph-Ogden split the game, defeating Winnebago 11-1 in five innings in the first game, and losing 4-1 to Andrew in the second game. Nolan Earley shined in the first game of SJ-O (7-2) with 4-4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Trevor Ames (2-to-2, 3 RBI, Double) and Logan Rosenthal (2-to-3, RBI) also provided multiple hits. Ames won on the mound, going into the ninth inning, allowing only two hits in five innings. The Spartans (7-2) didn’t play Andrew and chased 3-0 after three innings. Jared Altenbaumer went 2-2 for two to explain half of SJ-O’s hit in the second game. Milford lost both games and fell to East Dubuque 11-1 in six innings before losing to Bishop McNamara, 6-0. Beauright had a double for the Bearcats (1-4) against East Dubuque, and Gage Vogel scored the only hit for Milford against Bishop McNamara.
With Bladewood
Drop the comets pair. Oakwood lost 7-1, hosting Lead Custer in the first game in a three-team round-robin event, losing 16-6 to El Paso Greedley in the second game. Oakwood (3-6) never faced Lead Custer. Xander Wilson and Laudin Hughes each went two with three, while Carsendudrey drove on Oakwood’s only run. Dudley set the fire on Oakwood against El Paso Gridley, two doubles and two RBIs.
Non-magazine
Armstrong-Potomac 10, Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Chrisman0. The Trojan relied on the dominant pitching performance by Traxton Roberts and was hit in a timely manner to get a victory at Potomac. Roberts threw a perfect game for the AP (5-1) and hit 14 to keep the balance (1-4). He allowed a single by Jackson Pratt – only one hit, and only one walk. Ryan Edwards provided the AP spark from the leadoff spot, making it 3 for 5 with 3 on three RBIs, while Cole Bailey was 2 for two runs and 2 for two with 2 for two.
➜leroy 11, Woodland/Flanagan – Cornell 0. Leroy jumped to an early 5-0 lead, finishing the first inning and making a home victory in five innings. Jack Bogema provided three-run home runs, triples and five RBIs to pace the Panthers (2-1). Brock Owens threw a shutout for five innings, allowing only two hits and two walks, and receiving eight hits, it was plenty of run support.
With softball
In Paris
The tigers win twice. Westville beat host Paris 11-1 in five innings in the first game of the three-team round-robin event, and won an 8-7 victory with Robinson in the second game. Rainey Cook hit a home run and drove on three runs for the Tigers (7-1) against Paris, while Lily Kiesel had two hits, including a double, finishing with two RBIs. Westville went into the bottom for the sixth against Robinson, 7-4, earning a lead with four runs. Cook produced a home run, double and three RBIs in the win, while Kiesel drove on two runs and Dalyn Zaire finished with two doubles.

➜Monticello 12, Charleston 2. Monticello remained undefeated in a great offensive show during five home non-conference victory. The Sage took a 4-0 lead after the first inning, taking a 10-0 lead in the third inning. Madison Highlands spurred the sages by getting 3-2 with doubles, three RBIs and two runs (7-0). Isabella Bealy was also donated to become 4-2 with two RBIs.
Girls’ soccer
Centennial 4, Arthur Christian 0. The Host Chargers led 2-0 at halftime, doubled their lead in the second half, recording a non-conference victory. Alicia Fernandez scored a goal and handed out three assists for Centennial (2-1). Mmarie Mendehall made 18 saves to Arthur Christian (3-3).
St. Thomas More 2, Chillicothe IVC0. MaddieStaab and Leighton Clark each scored the Visiting Sabres (3-1) goals in the victory of the Illini Prairie Conference.
In boys’ track and field
On Bloomington. Two athletes in the area won the event in the Class 3A Illinois Top Times Meet. Danville’s D’Mario Jackson was first placed on a 200-meter dash in 22.41 seconds, while Centennial’s Voldy Makabu finished 6 feet, 6 3/4 inches to rank first in the high jump. Centennial’s Travion Wilson added a third-place finish at 200 with 22.60, while Centennial’s JJ Lewandowski came in third in the high jump (6-5 1/2). Jackson added a fourth-place finish with 60 (7.02), with Caleb Matthias of Champaign Central taking fourth with 1,600 (4:23.86), and William Hardy of Champaign Central taking fifth with 60 hurdles (8.29). In the 2A tournament, Mahomet Seymour won the relay title as Augustus Gaudio, Henry McMurray, Ethan Ramirez and Lucas Nicaza 3,200 relay quartets first crossed the finish line at 8:07.28. MS’ Ty Clark finished second with Paul Vault (14-11) and Urbana’s Arlin Orr finished second with 800 (1:59.70). Jackware from St. Joseph Ogden was third in Paul Boult (13-5 1/4), while Garrett Richardson, Brock Schlitler, Alex Mawler and Carter Mette’s Unity 800 relay teams came in third with 1:33.69.
Girls’ track and field
On Bloomington. Nina Brown celebrated her 100th anniversary at the Class 3A Illinois Top Times competition, while Brown helped the Chargers win two events at the unofficial indoor state competition held at Shark Center. Brown scored a 200-meter dash in a 24.93 seconds time, teaming up with Rochelle Nugueway, Noel Hunt and Ciane Bibb to first place on the 800 relay at 1:45.56 time. Brown also finished second in 60 with a 7.69 hour. Champaign Central came in third in the 800 relay as Londyn Grant, Iy’jah Grant, Sarah Donahoe and Julia Bilsbury recorded at 1:47.72. Billsbury added a fourth-place finish in the Maroon triple jump (36-11), while Centennial had two fifth-place finishes. Lydia Feliciana from Shotput (37-11 1/2) and 1,600 relay teams of Alaina Kimble, Nazara Walker, Hunt, Hunt and Brown. Two individuals from the area and one local relay team were all placed first in the 2A tournament. Mahomet-Seymour’s Madalyn Marx scored 400 with 57.64, while Clinton’s Abi Moser was first to score 37-10 3/4 toss, Josie Cler, Ashlyn Denney, Mackenzie Pound and Camryn Reedy in 9:43.38. Marx added a second finish in the 200 (25.50), while Unity’s Emily Decker came in fourth in the 3,200 (10:57.37) and fifth in the 1,600 (5:10.95).
