Luxury Collection, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, has announced the opening of Salterra, the Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, located in Turks & Caicos, the island’s first facility.
Located on Southern Caicos Island, the resort offers natural surroundings, world-class water sports, exquisite dining and cultural experiences.
“The luxury collection embodies the art of curation and brings together an extraordinary portfolio of unique hotels in some of the world’s most engaging and unexpected destinations,” said Bruce Lohr, Vice President of Luxury Collections and Global Brand Leader.
He added: “We are excited to present Saltera, a luxurious collection resort and spa, Tak & Caicos, as the latest addition to our expanding global footprint. The resort features nature-inspired designs, advanced culinary experiences and world-class eco-adventures, representing the first philosophy at the brand’s destination, where all the property reflects the soul of the place and serves as a portal of authentic cultural discovery.”
Shaped by elements
The resort’s sophisticated concept is inspired by the island’s famous salt flats and tropical charm. The 100 rooms and suites are made from local ingredients. Floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive balconies offer plenty of light and breathtaking views.
Health in harmony with nature
Eight luxurious treatment rooms include two couple suites and world-class treatments. The spa also features a multisensory aqua thermal circuit with a salt sauna, steam room, aloever, rejuvenating hammam, an outdoor lounge, hot tub and pool.
The Epicurean Journey
Six unique dining experiences showcase the island’s rich culinary heritage. Sisal’s Lobby Bar offers a ever-changing menu, bites and cocktails. Featuring dishes inspired by Cobo Bar & Grill’s Waterfront Dining Sports Latin, signature restaurant Brine offers chef tastings and paired wine menus.
The 7-course seasonal menu of Epicurean Moment is inspired by the island’s precious salts of ingredients called “white gold.” Enjoy a relaxed fusion of the British Caribbean at the regatta.
environment
With its untouched white sandy beaches and vast expansive stretches of protected Cockburnland & Sea National Park, the resort offers a wide range of adventures, from water sports to seasonal whale watching.
The calm, crystalline, gentle water provides optimal conditions for diving and snorkeling. Guided tours explore local wildlife, uninhabited islands and natural salt ponds, along with salt discovery experiences.
“Saltera, Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos is more than just a resort. It is a destination for elegance and spirit of the Brian King (Cala) region, president of Marriott International’s Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. “We are committed to offering our guests a trip to celebrate the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Sustainability
Sustainability is a central part of the resort’s philosophy. The abundant sunlight enhances its operation along with industrial composting systems. Recognizing water restrictions, the resort collects and removes seawater for drinking, harvests rainwater for irrigation, and provides only filtered water dispensers.
Guests can sponsor reef segments through the Coral Reef Adoption Program in collaboration with School for Field Studies (SFS), Turks & Caicos Reef Fund, and the Reef Institute.
“The resort is a destination where luxury and sustainability gather in an extraordinary environment,” said Michael Tibbetz, managing director of Saltera, a luxurious collection resort and spa, Tark & Caicos. “With its untouched beaches and rich cultural heritage, South Caicos indulges in the best experience the Caribbean has to offer, while reunion with nature offers rare opportunities.”
