The Georgia Supreme Court has refused to reinstate election rules approved by a partisan, pro-Trump majority on the Georgia Board of Elections. Among other things, the new rules will require hand counting of ballots, potentially delaying results and causing confusion on election night.
Here in New York, a federal judge ordered former mayor and ex-Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani to lose his luxury Manhattan apartment and other valuable property to Georgia’s election, which falsely accused Giuliani of rigging the election during vote counting. He ordered two staff members to hand him over. The operation began in 2020, and received a flood of death threats from Trump supporters. Last year, Giuliani was found liable for defamation of Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss and awarded $146 million in damages. Along with the apartment, Mr. Giuliani must also hand over his collection of luxury watches, autographed baseball memorabilia and a 1980 Mercedes-Benz previously owned by actor Lauren Bacall.
