Leone McDonnell & Roberts purchases tax credits to support Great Bay Services
DOVER — The Pennsylvania firm of Leone, McDonnell & Roberts, CPAs, announced support for Great Bay Services in the form of New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) tax credits.
In June 2024, CDFA announced it would award $6.6 million in tax credits to 20 New Hampshire nonprofit organizations, including Great Bay Services in Dover. According to CDFA’s website, New Hampshire tax-supported businesses earn projects by purchasing credits, which results in nonprofits receiving donations and businesses receiving tax credits on their donations. You will receive it.
This funding will have a significant impact on efforts to further Great Bay Services’ mission. Capacity development resources will be used to purchase 12 wheelchair accessible minivans to meet the transportation needs of customers in Rockingham and Strafford counties. By changing the model of customer transportation, we built the organization’s capacity to support 36 people with disabilities with reliable and safe access to community activities such as volunteer projects, outdoor walks, employment, education and entertainment. I will.
Funds are being raised to provide Thanksgiving meals to local families in need
ROCHESTER — Three area nonprofits are teaming up to host the second annual Thanksgiving distribution event, which last year raised nearly $20,000 and benefited more than 1,000 local families.
Community Action Partnership of Strafford County, SHARE Foundation, and Grace Community Church are partnering to ask for the public’s support to ensure a memorable holiday for recipients. Local bank and community partner MVSB (Meredith Village Savings Bank) will match donations up to $11,500.
The 2023 distribution event welcomed families the day before Thanksgiving as nearly 70 volunteers prepared to distribute holiday meal essentials at a SHARE Fund location in Rochester. Community members lined up to get everything from canned corn and stuffing to frozen turkeys to prepare homemade meals, and no one was turned away.
“We know the need will be even greater this year as household and grocery costs rise,” said MVSB President Marcus Weeks. “We are extremely proud to provide financial and volunteer support to help these incredible organizations do what they do best: take care of their community members.”
