The FDA defines Class II recalls as “where the use or exposure of a violation product can cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects, or where there is a distant possibility of serious health effects.”
For recalled Aldi cheese, the FDA is concerned that the bag may have stainless steel fragments.
According to the FDA, Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc. voluntarily launched a recall.

Fox Business reached out to Aldi for comment. The company provides detailed instructions on its recall procedures on its website. This includes pulling recalled products off the shelf.
“A “pull” alert from a sale either from the suspect product manufacturer or from our corporate purchasing department will trigger a quick response plan to handle the recall. Products that do not meet Aldi or government standards in any of these areas will be efficiently and effectively removed from sales,” the company said on its website.
