COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Aug. 23, 2024–( BUSINESS WIRE )–As Aggies flock to campus for the start of the new semester, the new Reliant Student Experience Office was unveiled this week at Texas A&M University Mays School of Business. Made possible by a $3 million gift from Reliant through the Texas A&M Foundation, the space is designed to support all Mays students throughout their college experience, from recruitment to development.
“We are pleased to work with a corporate partner who is so single-mindedly focused on student success,” said Nate Sharp, dean of Mays Business School. “The company sums up its commitment to its customers in the statement, ‘Our goal is your happiness.’ It’s easy to see why the Reliant name was a perfect fit for the Mays Student Experience Office.”
The Reliant Student Experience Office will provide a high-impact learning experience in four key areas: recruitment, academic achievement, leadership development and career development. The office will be a place where all Mays undergraduates can enrich their campus experience through programs such as the Freshman Business Initiative, the Business Honors Program and the Fellows Program. The office will serve as a central hub for student success and will work closely with Mays’ Career Center, the Undergraduate Advising Office and the International Business Center.
Our new partnership with Reliant also aligns with Mays’ vision to build a better future through business and our goal to become the nation’s leading public business school at a time of great change.
“Texas A&M University and Mays School of Business play a critical role in developing our state’s future leaders, which is why we’re excited about the Reliant Student Experience Office and the impact it will have on all Mays undergraduates,” said Rathesh Patel, president of NRG Consumers. “This space will enrich the student journey, providing an experience that deepens learning, engagement and a sense of belonging. We’re excited for the opportunity to welcome new and current students and introduce them to Reliant during such a formative time in their lives.”
To mark the opening of the new Reliant Student Experience Office, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Thursday, Aug. 22. Representing Reliant, Rasesh Patel was joined by Texas A&M Foundation Senior Vice President of Development John Morris, Mays School of Business Dean Dr. Nate Sharp, and several Mays leaders who played key roles in the partnership.
