The gymnasium was filled with fans of both teams. The atmosphere was like a postseason playoff game. The game was actually more of a playoff game, with both teams ranked in Class B and competing for the top spot in Region 6 and District 12 for postseason seeding.
Our Redeemers went on the road looking to improve their 8th place spot while hosting South Prairie Max looking to defend their 5th place spot. Considering the talent and desire on both sides of the net, the game went all five frames, with the Knights winning 20-25, 25-20, 25-18, 24-26, 15-12 over the Royals, shaking up the standings. Ta.
Our Redeemers were led by Tavia Carlson with 13 kills and 2 blocks at the net. Noel Pankratz, Lauren Strom and Mikayla Altringer each added seven kills, and Strom also had two blocks. Olivia Ebell had 34 digs and three aces, and Carlson added 29 digs.
Kadin Brown won with 27 digs and three aces. Grace Olson had 34 assists and 19 goals in the game for the Knights.
South Prairie Max was led by Azsia Trader who had 21 kills and netted five blocks. Scottie Beck had 14 kills and Regan Trudell had 58 assists and two aces in the game.
Keira Francis had eight kills and an ace, and Delaney Hankel had 25 digs. Haley Sis also scored 20 goals for the Royals in this game.
Top-ranked Linton HMB defeated Ellendale 3-0, while second-place Central Cass also defeated Hankinson 3-0. Third-place Central McLean defeated New Salem Almont 3-0, and fourth-place Dickinson Trinity secured its spot with a 3-0 victory over New England.
Our Redeemers will host Glenburn on Thursday, October 10th, and the South Prairie Max will travel to Mohall-Lunsford-Sherwood on the same day.
