The Ravens’ preparation for Sunday’s road game against the Bills involves more than just preparing for what the Bills are going to do on the field during the game.
They’re also prepared for Buffalo’s frigid climate. Current forecasts call for below-freezing temperatures for the 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff, and the Ravens are adjusting their practice routines to accommodate that scenario. Wednesday was held indoors because the outdoor practice field was icy, but head coach John Harbaugh said he made sure the building felt like it was outside, and Thursday’s practice was even colder. He said he expected that.
“Understood” as cold as possible We’re still here and if we shut off all the water here so the pipes don’t freeze, it’s going to be even colder tomorrow,” Harbaugh said via the team’s website. “Then let’s cool down. I’d like to go outside, but I can’t. The fields are too hard and too frozen.”
Forecasts call it the coldest game of quarterback Lamar Jackson’s career, but Jackson, who is 3-1 when temperatures dip below freezing, said he has no plans to change his approach. He plans to wear a heavy jacket while searching for heaters on the sideline, but when asked about wearing gloves for added protection, he said, “I’ll leave that to Teddy Bridgewater, aka Teddy’s Two Gloves.”
