The aide said Cleveland hit a ditch at Bill Johnson Road in Baldwin County.
Baldwin County, Georgia – Former Georgia Bulldog and current Baltimore Raven offensive lineman Benjamin Cleveland at Baldwin County DUI earlier this month after mostly entering the ditch, according to an incident report. He was arrested.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office reported that Cleveland is driving the truck at twice the legal limit.
Cleveland, who played for the Bulldogs from 2016 to 2020, failed to maintain the DUI and lane in the morning at Bil Johnson Road on February 12th.
Cleveland was moving west on Sinclairadam Road on the Ford F-250 when the passenger side of the truck left the road, according to the report.
The lieutenant stood behind Cleveland on Log Cabin Road and saw him weaving between the lines.
Cleveland turned his eyes to Bill Johnson Road, entered the approaching lane and nearly ran into the ditch, according to the report. The aide turned on his lights and pulled Cleveland at the Bill Johnson Road home. Cleveland told deputies he was back from the country club.
The aide reported the smelly alcohol coming from the truck, and Cleveland’s eyes looked shiny. Cleveland told his lieutenant he consumed three or four beers but had nothing to drink in two hours.
Cleveland agreed to do a sobriety test for the field, but refused to walk or stand on one foot for medical boots on his left ankle. The adjutant says he has given all six possible disability clues and agreed to take Breathalyzer.
Cleveland was placed in the back seat of his lieutenant’s police car and taken to the Baldwin County Jail. He took his second drinking girzer in prison, resulting in .161 more than twice as much legal restrictions.
During his stay in Georgia, Cleveland was an outstanding offensive lineman, earning honors as both the National and All-SEC in his final season in 2020.
He is lovingly known as Big Ben when he stands at 6’6 inches and 360 pounds.
In the 2021 NFL Draft, Cleveland was selected in the third round by the Baltimore Ravens. Earlier this season, Cleveland blocked a field goal against Washington’s manager.
