Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said Thursday that the state is a target of election disinformation, pointing to a viral video of alleged voter fraud that suggests it may be the result of foreign interference. .

Raffensperger, the battleground state’s top elections official, said the video was “obviously a fabrication” and was intended to stir up unwarranted concerns about Georgia’s voting process. He said he was working with state and federal authorities to “combat” the video and “identify its source.”
“Earlier today, my office became aware of a video showing a Haitian immigrant with multiple Georgia IDs claiming to have voted multiple times,” Raffensperger said in a statement. “This is false and an example of the targeted disinformation we’ve seen in this election.”

Amy Kremer, a member of the Republican National Committee, shared a video on X asking, “How did you get multiple IDs?” And they say it’s “illegal and not good.”
Gabriel Sterling, chief operating officer of the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, criticized Kremer on social media for sharing the video.
“No responsible person would retweet this ridiculously obvious lie and disinformation. Those who do so are furthering the efforts of America’s enemies and undermining our nation’s security. The judgment of those who share it should be questioned in all respects,” Stirling said of X.
“As Americans, we cannot allow our enemies to use lies to divide us and undermine trust in our institutions or each other,” Raffensperger said Thursday.
Early voting turnout broke the previous record set statewide in 2020, with more than half of Georgia voters already casting their ballots.
