The Cherry Creek North Business District is home to 222 retail and service businesses. Of these, 90% are small businesses, and 64% of them are small businesses with 10 or fewer employees. Many are locally owned, and 60 of them have been in business for more than 15 years. Artisan Centers fit into many of these categories. Located on the corner of 3rd and Detroit, it’s been there for 47 years.
“We’re one of the last corners of Cherry Creek that hasn’t been developed and isn’t going to be developed,” said Dominique Roark, community relations, marketing and giving manager for the Artisan Center.
This woman-owned small business is packed with a wide variety of cards and gifts, including pottery and jewelry.
“We source as much as possible from Colorado,” Rourke explained. “And we source from different parts of the country: unique small artisans that we find.”
As with most retail stores, the holiday shopping season is a critical time. This is our busiest season and we are gearing up for next year. But the Artisan Center is more than just a gift shop. For many years, it has been a gathering place for neighbors and the heart of the community.
“You really see this area grow and change and continue to do so all the time,” Rourke added.
At Artisan Center, we always offer personal service and complimentary gift wrapping. It’s a retail experience with a nostalgic feel.
