Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a meeting of senior military leaders in London and said that if it was not defended, he would violate a peace deal with Ukraine.
The British Prime Minister said the agreement to stop the fighting between Russia and Ukraine would only “last” if “security arrangements exist.”
He was speaking at the permanent joint headquarters in Northwood, London. There, more than 20 countries gathered at the closure conference to discuss the proposals of Ukrainian military to ensure the security of the country as part of the peace agreement.
Ir Kiel said the security arrangements would reveal “severe consequences if the transaction is violated” to Russia.
The Prime Minister said Britain and its allies are moving from “political momentum” to “military planning.”
He states:
“Because that happened before. I will absolutely reveal in my mind that it will happen again.”
Sir Kiel has ruled out redeploying British troops from countries such as Estonia to commit to Kiev, saying “it will not be retracted from their commitment to other countries.”
British Defense Secretary John Healy was in the closure of military leaders of the country, which formed part of what Ir Keel called the “coalition of will.”
Downing Street said military leaders will be involved in the “granular program” due to the details of the potential deployment.
The UK called a meeting of military chiefs after the summit earlier this month was attended by 26 countries.
The potential deployment of the military should be described as a “feeling power” rather than a “peacekeeping force,” defense and diplomatic sources say.
Previously, Ir Kiel visited Barrow Port in Cumbria, northwest England, where British nuclear submarines were built.
He told reporters that the consultations in London focused on “how to keep air, sea and borders safe in Ukraine.”
According to the Daily Telegraph, sending British typhoon jets to Ukraine to cover the air to the troops was one of the proposals discussed during the meeting.
Prior to the meeting, Army Minister Luke Pollard said he “we haven’t spoken about the numbers yet” of British troops that could be sent to Ukraine “as we’re still designing the shape of our troops.”
By way of example, he states: “For example, if one country offers fast jet wars like typhoon aircraft, how will the other countries work? Where will it refuel? How will it work with the capabilities of other countries?”
The military minister said he hopes to ensure that the troops in and around Ukraine are as reliable as possible.
During a visit to Norway on Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymeaselensky said Russia “must stop unnecessary demands that only extend the war.”
The phone call between President Donald Trump, Putin and Zelensky failed to create the 30-day ceasefire the White House envisioned.
On Thursday, Zelensky said Ukrainian officials will meet their US counterparts in Saudi Arabia next Monday after the Kremlin confirmed US-Russia talks the same day.
The latest talks come when the US tries to mediate a ceasefire between the two countries after more than three years of battle.
Both Zelensky and Putin agreed to a ceasefire during their conversation with the US in principle, but due to conflicting circumstances, it has not yet been realized.
