The World Sailing Show will deliver 30-minute episodes featuring news, profiles and racing highlights from the world of sailing. The September 2024 episode will head to Barcelona to see challengers battle it out for the Louis Vuitton Cup and determine which team will take on defenders Emirates Team New Zealand for the 37th America’s Cup.

The Youth and Women’s America’s Cups are also taking place in Barcelona, with both Andor Team Australia teams preparing to compete against 11 other nations in the AC40 class at the World Sailing Show.
With limited time on the water in Barcelona before the race begins, they spent a lot of time in Australia training in simulators, getting familiar with the course and their new boats. The Youth America’s Cup has already begun, and the Women’s America’s Cup is due to get underway in early October.
Meanwhile, a luxury fleet of 13 boats from nine countries arrived in Puerto Portals in Mallorca for the penultimate round of the 2024 52 Super Series. After a week of shifting winds and winners, the title came down to a three-way battle on the final day. A late start meant that only one race was contested, leaving no room for error.
The 34th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup brought together 40 maxis at the Costa Smeralda Yacht Club in Sardinia. This year saw the addition of the Rolex IMA Maxi One World Championship, reserved for only the fastest maxis. Exciting coastal races took place in all classes. At the end, it was the Farr 100 LEOPARD 3 that celebrated victory.
The nine teams who took part in this year’s 44Cup World Championships on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland did not let the tough conditions dampen morale, as eight of the nine teams won in the final round, creating tensions high ahead of the final race.
There’s also a roundup of news from across the sailing world, including the start of the GKA Freestyle Kite World Cup season in Dunkirk, the iQFOiL International Games and U23 World Championships on Lake Silvaplana, where strong winds led to some heated racing, and the Kite Foil World Series, which kicked off its new season in Austria.
Finally, this year’s World Sailing Awards will take place in Singapore on 5 November, bringing together the sport’s brightest minds to celebrate a year’s worth of achievements. In addition to the Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award and the 11th Hour Racing Sustainability Award, new Young Sailor of the Year and World Sailing Technology Awards will be presented.
