President Donald Trump has returned to the venue in Butler, Pennsylvania, where he survived an assassination attempt just three months ago.
Billionaire and ardent Trump supporter Elon Musk has announced he will speak at the rally, marking the first time Tesla’s top executive has endorsed Trump in July, shortly after the tragic July 13 attacks. This will be the first time the CEO will appear in public at a former president’s election event.
J.D. Vance, Eric Trump and his wife Lara Trump (RNC co-chairs), and other notable guests will also be in attendance.
Saturday’s Butler vigil will also be attended by the family of former Fire Chief Corey Comperatore, who was killed in the attack.
After a series of failures by the Secret Service at the July 13 rally revealed in a damning Congressional report, the Secret Service has provided numerous security enhancements. Since the tragic incident, the Secret Service has increased security around President Trump, saying it is ensuring the “highest level of security” the agency provides.
A “large, coordinated law enforcement presence” is planned for the rally, a law enforcement source familiar with the plans told The Independent.
