Donald Trump and Melania Trump will make a rare public appearance together tonight at the Al Smith Charity Dinner in New York City.
Trump is scheduled to speak later tonight at the event, which presidential candidates have traditionally attended for decades. However, Kamala Harris refused to attend, prioritizing her campaign in Wisconsin, a key battleground state.
The Make America Great Again PAC sent an email to supporters Thursday condemning Harris’ absence from the event, noting that she is the first major party candidate to do so since the 1980s. However, Mr. Harris sent a pre-recorded video to be played at the dinner party.
“Her radical policies are fundamentally inconsistent with Catholic teachings, and her history of anti-Catholic rhetoric further alienates this important voting bloc,” the PAC wrote.
The former president also once again slammed CBS’s flagship news program “60 Minutes” over the standard edits it made to Harris’ interview. The former president baselessly claims that the conduct was criminal and is calling for the network’s license to be revoked.
Harris’ campaign ridiculed Trump’s refusal to discuss the vice president again and avoids interviews and appearances. On Thursday, the National Rifle Association announced it had canceled its “Defend the 2nd” event due to “campaign schedule changes.”
