CASCADA THermal Springs and Hotel is a newly built spa and hotel in the center of the vibrant Alberta Arts district, only a few blocks from the popular branch spots TIN SHED GARDEN CAFE. It is difficult to miss. Kascada features the entire block between the Northeast and the 12th Avenue.
The hotel has 100 rooms, with a variety of high -tech lighting and temperature control functions, but the actual draws for local people are pools and spas that are immersed.
So, on a recent winter Tuesday, we decided to experience Kascada for ourselves.
For $ 100, they gained three hours of access to five pools, steam rooms, saunas and cold plans. If you schedule a spa service, it contains towels, flip flops, and robe (additional costs).

Spa Experience begins on the second floor. I checked in at the desk and got a waterproof bracelet that also functions as a locker key. We wore a suit (needed a swimsuit), we went down the stairs and headed to Conservatory.
Conservatory is a bright room with a large and warm immersion pool surrounded by a lounge chair and hundreds of plants down the wall. In particular, according to CEO and founder Brian Heather, Kascada.
Overhead We have noticed the grid of solar energy production glass. This is a kind of solar cell panel that allows light to shine. “The sunlight that produces 10 % of the whole project energy is about 100 kilowatts,” Heather said about Leed Platinum certified projects. Heather said that rainwater was used to wash off the toilet.
We went down another stairs and found the sanctuary, probably the greatest part of experience. The light is thin and shines blue and gold. It was a quiet area, so we only heard the sound of jet and one of the pools.
The sanctuary has three immersion pools: minerals, ambient, hot, cold plans, saunas, and steam rooms. There is also an ice fountain, which drops crushed ice like snow in a bowl. We grabbed a handful of, used it, and cooled down in the steam room and as skin keratin.
We went back and forth between various pools at their own pace, but the circuit listed on the wall is proposed.
After the time has passed, you can take a shower with a rosemary scented shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.
Before going out, we are playing in the hotel lobby. The hotel lobby has more plants, circular theater -style seats and sofas. We stopped to drink matcha latte and shared cinnamon rolls from Alberta Street Coffee, a lobby coffee shop.
“It’s a really kind of thing that intends to be a magical space where you can relax and escape from the outside world,” Heather said.
Our review after spending the morning: the mission has been achieved.
