The Holy See See Press Office announces Pope Francis is due to appear after 12pm, greeting the crowd outside Gemeri.
Vatican News
On Saturday morning, the Holy See Press Office announced that the Pope greeted the crowd outside Gemelli Hospital in Rome and planned to give the blessing on Sunday, March 23rd just after 12pm. The statement said Angelus’ text will be shared as it has been in recent weeks.
The doctor has yet to give any indication of when the Pope will be discharged from the hospital, but this greeting on Sunday will be the first time since he was admitted to the hospital on February 14th. The news comes after the latest health updates share improvements in both his breathing and exercise.
Despite being in the hospital for the past five weeks, the Pope continues to work, sending messages to pilgrim groups, wrapping up the Mass and sending voice messages on March 6th to thank him for his testimony of love and solidarity.
