This fall, there will be 35 home games between Pepperdine University’s three ticketed fall sports, all of which are successful in the 2023-24 season. In total, eight Power 4 programs will travel to Malibu to face the Waves.
The Waves women’s volleyball team is looking to defend its West Coast Conference championship title and improve on last year’s 19-9 season to qualify for its 27th NCAA Tournament. Last year’s WCC Coach of the Year, Scott Wong, and WCC Player of the Year and AVCA All-American honoree Grace Chillingworth are key players for the team, which returns eight players from last year’s roster.
Women’s volleyball’s 15-game home schedule includes two home openers against city rivals USC (Aug. 30 and Aug. 31), Stanford (Sep. 11) and ASICS Classic tournament games against Pittsburgh, Omaha and UC Santa Barbara (Sep. 13-15) before entering the conference schedule. This year, the Waves will host new WCC opponents Washington State (Nov. 2) and Oregon State (Nov. 30). Washington State made the NCAA Tournament last year.
The Pepperdine University women’s soccer team is in its 31st season under longtime head coach Tim Ward. This fall, the Waves will host three NCAA Tournament teams at Tali Frahm Rochus Field. WCC Offensive Player of the Year Tori Waldeck, All-West Regional selection Taylor Bloom and WCC Freshman of the Year Julia Quinones are among the highlights for a team looking to make its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance.
The Waves’ 10-game home schedule includes three games against two Power 4 opponents, USC (Aug. 25) and Arizona (Aug. 29), plus a notable matchup against UCLA (Sep. 1). Additionally, Pepperdine will host two of the WCC’s best teams, Washington State (Oct. 2) and Santa Clara (Oct. 9).
Merrill Moses’ men’s water polo team will be competing in the WCC for the second consecutive season, looking to improve on last year’s 25-6 season, which saw them share the WCC regular-season title and their highest ranking (3rd place) since 2008. Pepperdine’s 10-game home schedule begins with a PCH Cup rivalry match against LMU (Sept. 14) and includes games against three teams competing in the NCAA Tournament: UCLA (Oct. 12), Princeton (Oct. 15) and San Jose State (Nov. 9).
