FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots waived 14 players today in preparation for tomorrow’s mandatory cut to the 53-man roster limit.
The Patriots waived the following players: LS Tucker Addington, WR Kawan Baker, DE William Bradley King, DT Josiah Bronson, LB Steele Chambers, RB DeShawn Fenwick, CB Azizi Hahn, T Zuri Henry, DE Christian McCarroll, TE LaMichael Petway, DT Sam Roberts, C Charles Turner, CB Mikey Victor and TE Jacob Warren.
Addington, 27, signed with New England on August 5, 2024. He was signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on December 23, 2022 following a season-ending injury to LS Joe Cardona, and played three games for New England during the 2022 season. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Addington attended New England’s training camp last season but was waived on August 15. He signed with Jacksonville on August 20 but was waived on August 29. Addington was signed to Washington’s practice squad on December 19 and signed to the 53-man roster on December 30, and played three games. Addington played college football at Sam Houston State University and with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL in 2022 before being signed to Dallas’ practice squad on October 5, 2022.
Baker, 26, originally entered the NFL as a draft pick by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round (255th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of South Alabama. Baker, who is 6-foot-1 and weighs 210 pounds, began his rookie season on the practice squad. Baker was promoted to the active roster for two games as a rookie, playing on special teams in a match against Miami on December 27, 2021 and a match against Carolina on January 2, 2022. He also played on the practice squads with Green Bay and Philadelphia.
Bradley King, 26, joined New England’s practice squad on October 18, 2023. King, who stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 265 pounds, joined Washington as a seventh round pick (240th overall) in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Baylor University. He spent parts of the past two seasons on the practice squad and Washington’s 53-man roster, appearing in four games and recording six total tackles. Bradley King spent the first month of the 2023 season on Washington’s practice squad before being waived on October 16.
Bronson, 27, played for the Memphis Showboats of the UFL in the spring of 2024, appearing in all 10 games and recording 12 total tackles and 1.5 sacks. Bronson, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 295 pounds, signed with New England on July 28, 2024. He has played in the NFL with New Orleans, Cleveland, Dallas and Miami. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with New Orleans on May 10, 2021 out of Washington.
Chambers, 24, was acquired on waivers from Detroit on June 11, 2024. He originally signed with Detroit as a rookie free agent out of Ohio State on May 10, 2024. Chambers, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 229 pounds, was waived by Detroit on June 10, 2024. Chambers began his collegiate career as a running back before switching to linebacker in the fall of 2021. He has played in 29 games as a linebacker over his past three collegiate seasons.
Fenwick, 24, signed with New England as a rookie free agent out of Oregon State University on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-1, 223-pound Fenwick was waived on Aug. 2, then re-signed on Aug. 12. Fenwick appeared in 50 collegiate games, tallying 385 rushing attempts for 2,118 yards and 18 touchdowns and catching 31 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns.
Hahn, 25, was signed to New England’s practice squad on Sept. 21, 2023. Hahn, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 204 pounds, originally signed with Las Vegas as a rookie free agent out of UCLA on May 12, 2023 and was released by the Raiders on Aug. 29, 2023.
Henry, 24, originally signed with New England as a rookie free agent out of the University of Texas at El Paso on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Henry spent six seasons at UTEP, playing both left and right tackle and starting 36 of 53 games.
McCarroll, 24, out of Grand Valley State University, signed with New England as a rookie free agent on Aug. 20, 2024. The 6-foot-2, 253-pound McCarroll appeared in 47 games during his collegiate career, recording 151 total tackles, 15 sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles.
Petway, 27, was added to the 53-man roster from New England’s practice squad on Jan. 6, 2024 after being signed to the practice squad on Dec. 27, 2023. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Petway signed with Indianapolis as a free agent on Aug. 2, 2023 after spending the 2022 season with Michigan of the USFL and the 2023 season with Birmingham of the USFL. Petway played his college football at Iowa State University.
Roberts, 26, originally committed to New England as a sixth-round selection (200th overall) in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Northwest Missouri State University. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Roberts has played in 12 games, including one start, over the past two seasons, totaling seven tackles.
Turner, 23, signed with New England as a rookie free agent out of Louisiana State University on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-4, 303-pound Turner began his career as a tackle before switching to center and being the starter at center the past two seasons.
Victor, 24, signed with New England as a rookie free agent out of Alabama State University on May 10, 2024. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Victor began his collegiate career at Ventura College and UNLV before playing two seasons at Alabama State, where he recorded 55 tackles, three interceptions and 21 passes defensed.
Warren, 24, signed with New England as a rookie free agent out of Tennessee on June 6, 2024. The 6-foot-6, 251-pound Warren spent six seasons with Tennessee (2018-23), three as a starter. Warren appeared in 54 games, starting 33 of them, and recorded 53 receptions for 607 yards and eight touchdowns.
