What you need to know
The CS Fullerton Titans’ road trip continues as they take on the Pacific Tigers on Saturday at 7:30pm ET at the Alex G. Spanos Center. The Titans got an upset win in their last game and will be looking for another win against the 2.5-point favorite the Tigers.
Last Tuesday, CS Fullerton defeated Pepperdine 72-63.
Several players had solid performances to lead CS Fullerton to victory, but perhaps none more than John Mikey Square, who scored 12 points. Square also shot 75% from the field, his highest mark since December 2023. Donovan O’Day was also a key player, making 5 of 8 down the stretch with 15 points and two steals.
Meanwhile, Pacific needed to snap a four-game losing streak, but that losing streak is now gone. They faced Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday and came out on top by a score of 83-71. Considering their performance of 56 points in the last tournament, the high level of offensive performance was a big turnaround for the Tigers.
Pacific’s victory was the result of some impressive offensive performances. Most notable was Elijah Fisher, who nearly achieved a double-double with 28 points and nine rebounds. Fisher’s performance made up for the delay in last Friday’s game against Missouri State. The team was also helped by Elias Ralph, who had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Pacific smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. Arkansas-Pine Bluff easily outscored their opponents in this department with just four downs.
CS Fullerton’s victory ended a six-game road drought dating back to last season, improving to 2-5. Pacific got back to even score at 4-4 with this win.
CS Fullerton was able to secure a 67-56 victory over Pacific in their last matchup in December 2023. The rematch could be a little tougher for CS Fullerton as the team doesn’t have home court advantage this time. Let’s see if changing the venue makes a difference.
