OU Daily was named a Pacemaker Finalist on Friday in the annual business category Related University Press Contests.
Nine university media businesses across the country will be recognized as finalists, with five earning pacemaker winner distinctions at the ACP Spring National College Media Conference held in March in Long Beach, California.
This is the first time that every day has been respected in the business category, and in 2020, we recognize outstanding performance by our business and operations teams to ensure that students’ journalism is financially supported. Added for.
In its history, for each record available, The Daily is a 12-time finalist and an eight-time Pacemaker Honors winner in a variety of fields. Most recently, I won in the Daily Online category in 2023.
In the work that was handed over in 2024, Chase Pride was the student advertising manager and Linnu Nguyen was the business advisor. Both continue to serve these roles. The submitted entries featured Daily’s media kit. Social media campaign. Digital, video, and print ads. and a special section.
The business team’s work has helped the Daily to close over the recent fiscal year with a profitable position that outperforms digital revenue. In 2024, Business Operations also launched a new sponsored content team that is generating new revenue lines. Meanwhile, we have made it even more diverse in how Pro-Ready Portfolios students work on Daily staff.
In 2024, daily work generated over 6.8 million views across all platforms.
