It’s more of a domestic airport.
A travel influencer has gone viral after sharing her experience flying through one of the world’s smallest airports.
Rosie Palma, known online as @travelercolombia, posted a TikTok video documenting her day traveling through Colombia’s Hacaritama Airport.

She told the Post that she made the video “to show the beauty in simplicity.”
The tour begins with Palma approaching a tree providing shade for rows of chairs set out on the dirt that will serve as the first waiting area.
The area also features tables with Colombian pastries and snacks that you can purchase while enjoying the fresh air.
Guests will be instructed to self-check their luggage in a small indoor waiting area where they will collect their tickets and then be guided back to the outdoor area.
“Your baggage is here. Over there you can see other passengers waiting to be called into waiting room number two. On the other side is the runway. Late arrivals are queuing up in the sun,” Palma said in a video showing viewers around the area.
As boarding time approached, she finally made her way inside to the waiting area.

“This is the second lounge you enter when you board,” she said.
“Then before you enter, your bags will be manually checked again.”
There is only one toilet for everyone working and using the airport, but as there were only 48 passengers on the Palma flight, this wasn’t an issue.

She also described it as “very spacious and clean.”
Passengers were allowed to take their seats about 20 minutes before takeoff and casually slid into the plane.
Although the plane was small, Palma said the seats were comfortable and the experience was enjoyable.
Hacaritama Airport is the only airport in Aguachica, Colombia.
Flights depart to Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport exclusively with SATENA Airlines.
This small runway serves small ATR aircraft that typically carry fewer than 50 passengers.
But those wanting to get to bigger cities can only travel on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, according to FlightsFrom.com.
