Ohio State Attorney General Dave Yost is suing an executive-based luxury furniture retailer for allegedly scamming clients from money.
Yost is suing Burke Decor, a Boardman-based retailer specializing in luxury home decoration after reporting payments for furniture that has never arrived.
The estimated loss is above $380,000, according to a press release.
AG’s office began researching its business in 2024 to increase complaints about furniture that were either timely or not provided at all, making refunds difficult.
According to the release, Burke Decoration initially helped resolve customer disputes, but 256 disputes have not yet been resolved.
“Consumers paid for high-end furniture, but ultimately they were all frustrated. My office gave the company the opportunity to make this right, but Yost said the empty promise wouldn’t fill the house.
