STAMFORD, Conn. – August 15, 2024 – Nicole Auerbach will return as lead insider for the Big Ten College Countdown football studio show and expand her role to cover multiple college sports across NBC Sports’ linear and digital platforms, it was announced today.
“Following a great start to last season, we’re excited to see Nicole expand her insider role to college basketball, add podcasts and written content and continue to provide in-depth coverage of college sports across our platforms,” said Sam Flood, executive producer and president, NBC Sports Productions.
“Working together across all of NBC Sports’ college sports platforms is a dream come true,” Auerbach said. “I’ve always prided myself on my ability to report and commentary on the biggest stories while also conveying the human side of sports. NBC Sports is the perfect place to do both, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Auerbach, who has covered college football and basketball for numerous media outlets since 2011, joined NBC Sports as its chief college football insider in 2023. She will appear weekly on NBC Sports’ Big Ten College Countdown studio show and college football programming on NBC Sports platforms, providing updates on the players, coaches and schools making headlines each week.
In addition to his role with the Big Ten College Countdown studio show, Orbach will also serve as the lead insider for NBC Sports’ college basketball coverage, including the Big Ten, Big East and Atlantic 10.
She will also cover the state of college sports across the country in a regular column on NBC Sports Digital platforms as well as a new podcast.
Auerbach will continue in his role as host on SiriusXM.
NBC Sports’ Big Ten football package will include Big Ten Saturday Night on NBC and Peacock, marking the first time Big Ten football will be broadcast exclusively in primetime on a national broadcast network every weekday;
Peacock will simulcast all of NBC Sports’ college football games and studio programming airing on the NBC broadcast networks this season, including Big Ten Saturday Night and Notre Dame football home games.
Peacock’s wide range of programming includes live coverage of the Olympics and Paralympics, the Premier League, U.S. women’s and men’s national team soccer games (in Spanish), Sunday Night Football, Big Ten football and basketball, Notre Dame football, NASCAR, the NTT IndyCar Series, and more. Peacock also offers daily sports programming on the NBC Sports channel.
