Week 5 is over, and the Jets put an exclamation point on Tuesday morning, reportedly firing head coach Robert Saleh in a shocking move. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has reportedly been named interim head coach, and the Jets are scheduled to face the Bills on Monday Night Football next week.
After this Monday night game, the Kansas City Chiefs will join the Minnesota Vikings as the last undefeated teams of the 2024 season. The Chiefs defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-13, moving one game closer to winning their third straight Super Bowl.
Not only did the Saints lose to the Chiefs, but they are also at risk of losing quarterback Derek Carr, who was sidelined with an oblique injury.
Elsewhere in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns’ struggles are pinned on the poor play of 230 million dollar man Deshaun Watson, while the Cincinnati Bengals follow a crushing overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens. , they may be approaching a state of panic.
As Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season concludes, here are the latest top stories from Yahoo Sports.
Russell Wilson and Justin Fields chatter intensifies in Pittsburgh
It was easy to see this problem coming as the Steelers have struggled offensively for much of the season, but it was highlighted in Sunday Night Football’s loss to the Cowboys. Pittsburgh won the turnover battle 3-1 and stopped Dallas from making a field goal, but they were outscored 445-226 and were just 3-of-12 on third down. Despite allowing over 300 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in this game, Pittsburgh’s defense made enough big plays to keep the Steelers in the game, but Fields and company struggled to get into first gear. I couldn’t get out of it. On top of that, Russell Wilson told NBC Sports that he’s more than ready to play for the Raiders in Week 6, and this week, head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smy The focus will be on
Should Cleveland bench Deshaun Watson?
It may seem like a long time ago since Joe Flacco was in Indianapolis and the Browns were 1-4, but Cleveland was a playoff team last season. This was largely due to Flacco helping lead a late-season rally with Deshaun Watson sidelined with a shoulder injury after Week 10. Watson ranks 28th among eligible passers in QB rating, with a completion rate of just under 61%. Cleveland was 27th in passing yards. Head coach Kevin Stefanski has said he will stick with Watson, but if Watson and Cleveland’s offense continue to struggle, Jameis Winston will be overshadowed.

White never played in a game for the Eagles. An ankle injury limited his playing time early in the season, but his recent games have shown little signs of injury. He is currently a free agent at the age of 26.
