A 14-year-old girl jumped to her death from a luxury apartment building in Soho on Sunday, November 17, police said. The incident occurred around 7:20 a.m. According to a report in the New York Post, a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department said that after the tragedy, police received a report of an unconscious girl at 101 Wooster Street.

A similar incident happened last year as well.
A similar incident occurred about a year ago, when a man jumped to his death from the roof of the Deutsche Bank Center and then stormed into New York City’s popular five-star Mandarin Oriental hotel. The victim was brutally cut in half before hitting the pavement. Celebrities such as Jay-Z, Cynthia Nixon, and Tom Brady also own apartments within the complex.
An employee at the building told the New York Daily News at the time that the eaves cut the man in half. One of his arms was found across the street. The man, who was not believed to be a guest at the hotel, took the public elevator to the roof and jumped off. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident happened at 80 Columbus Circle in Midtown, the Daily Mail reported. The man’s body was lying on the road, with glass and debris scattered around it. The twin luxury glass towers from where he jumped could sell for $19 million, according to reports at the time.
